Perimenopause and Weight Gain - there are other ways to fix this problem!

Perimenopause and weight gain

Studies show that most women in their 40’s are dissatisfied with their bodies. I know we “know” this, but stop for a second and really think about it.

Think about how you feel about your body and how much effort you have put into disliking it and changing it. How it impacts your day from choosing what to wear to feeling self conscious or comparing your body to others.

MOST women are doing this right alongside you.

I know it doesn’t seem like it, but I mean think about it, we all do a darn good job of pretending like we are fine when we are not, it’s the same thing here.

Body dissatisfaction is everywhere. Everywhere women are having a hard time.

And the other thing that is happening, is that women everywhere are trying to fix this problem. And the solution offered from every friend, family member, and media outlet is to lose weight.

It can seem like the only option to feel better, to feel more like yourself again.

But this ‘solution’ is really unreliable, especially when you have experienced weight gain from perimenopause.

Perimenopause and weight gain

Weight loss is not a reliable solution to feeling uncomfortable with weight gain in perimenopause

It can feel like you are the problem, but you are not.

Something may work for a time but then life happens and you get off track. In other words, most programs aren’t cut out for life.

Trust me, I know it feels like you are the problem because you can’t stick with it or you just haven’t found the right program but studies (and also the 100’s of women I have helped get off this life sucking body dissatisfaction hamster wheel) would suggest otherwise.

In other words, it’s not you, it’s them.

Like big time them.

As in studies show that more than 90% of weight loss attempts result in weight regain. And most people will gain MORE weight than they lost in the first place.

It is so common that you could say that dieting is a predictor of weight gain.

That makes this strategy for feeling better about your body super unreliable.

What I want more women to understand, what I want YOU to understand, is that weight loss is not the only way to feel more comfortable and confident in your body.

And if you are open to another way, I have created something for you. It is a free, five day series called 4 Steps to Becoming Body Confident. It includes a daily video of 10 minutes or less you can listen to and a companion workbook (if you have used the workbook I have put out before, this is an expanded experience including daily videos and an updated workbook).

I have wanted to do this for a while, and I’m going to be honest, I am really excited about how it has come together.

If you would like to get this free series, you can click here to do so.
